Recovery
Zone
Sauna, ice bath and solarium, on site. The half of training that actually makes the other half work.
Training breaks you down. This is where you rebuild.
Most gyms in Lebanon sell you the hour and send you home. The problem is that adaptation does not happen during the session, it happens after it, and the people who get results are the ones who take that seriously.
So recovery is a room here, not an afterthought. Heat, cold and light, all a few steps from the floor, so you use them while you are already in the building instead of promising yourself you will do it later.
How to use it
Sauna after strength work, to relax and settle the nervous system. Cold after high intensity conditioning, or on a rest day. Solarium whenever suits you, since it is independent of training. If you are unsure, ask your coach and they will tell you what fits your week rather than what sounds impressive.
What is available
Sauna
A proper Finnish sauna, cedar lined, with a stone heater. Ten to fifteen minutes after training to relax muscle tone and wind the nervous system down before you drive home.
Ice bath
Cold plunge for the sessions that leave you wrecked. Short exposure, and best used after conditioning or on rest days rather than straight after heavy strength work.
Solarium
A Tecnosole booth on site, in a private room with a towel and hooks. Independent of your training, and booked by the session.
- Tell your coach if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, low or high blood pressure, or are on medication that affects circulation or sun sensitivity.
- Hydrate before and after the sauna. It is easy to underestimate how much you lose.
- Keep cold exposure short and get warm afterwards. Longer is not better.
- Solarium sessions are time limited for a reason. Stick to the recommendation you are given.
Recovery facilities are for adults. If you have any medical condition, check with your doctor before using the sauna, the ice bath or the solarium.
The lounge
A bar and seating area by reception, so you are not standing in a corridor waiting for a class to start.
A protein shake and smoothie bar is in development for this space. Details to follow.
